We know that co-working is good when it works, but often it feels less than ideal. Are you tired of the same old ways..?
“Fifteens, then?” “Swap when it feels like a good moment?”
”You happy to start? Or do you want me to go first?”
Is this how you frequently begin a co-worked interpreting assignment, without really thinking?
If you’re working in a deaf-hearing team, do you feel confident it will go well, or are you unsure about how you will work as a team?
During the day, we’ll have input from our colleagues, members of the interpreting community who have been reflecting on co-working and have been thinking about how we might work together better. We’ll work in BSL as the shared language of the group.
Topics:
Trust and Rapport Building: How we work with those we don’t like, don’t know, or don’t get!
Deaf and Hearing Interpreters Working Together.
Open Team Process: Alternatives to the same old 15- or 20-minute turns.
Co-Working Online: Can we get beyond shift work?
