INterpreting in community mental health settings

 
 

A two-day training course for qualified interpreters who wish to work in mental health settings, as well as those interpreters working in this field who would like to increase their skills and confidence in this type of work. 

Day one focuses on working with deaf children, adolescents, and their families with Dr Reenee Barton, Consultant Child Psychiatrist from the South West National Deaf Children & Adolescent Mental Health Service (NDCAMHS). 

On day two, the focus is on working with deaf adults in community mental health settings with Dr Mary Griggs, Consultant Clinical Psychologist for the Deaf Specialised Mental Health Service, based in Bristol.
